Synopsis

High in the Appalachian mountains, the coal company has been ripping open the earth, blasting through ancient rock in a last desperate grab for what’s left. The town below has learned to live with the detonations—the dust in their lungs, the water gone bad, the silence of a place slowly dying. But one blast goes too deep. And something buried wakes up.
Beyond an old sealed gas-door lies a cathedral-sized chamber, a cavern hundreds of feet high, carved long before humans ever came here. At its center is a colossal, glittering, coal-black organism, shifting and pulsing like ore struggling to breathe. A living thing. A hungry thing.

KC, a young mother already stretched to the breaking point, watches everything she loves erode: her home, her land, her family’s future. When her husband Jesse takes a dangerous job to explore the newly opened shaft beneath their property, he disappears.

Soon, a sickness spreads through the town. Bodies twist. Eyes go glassy and wrong. Whatever woke beneath the mountain isn’t staying underground, it’s moving through people, blood, and soil.

KC descends into the abandoned mine, navigating a vast labyrinth carved long before human hands touched the mountain. There, she finds Jesse transformed—and their young son taken. Now she must fight through the dark, through the infected, and confront the living horror at the heart of the hollow. To save her family—and stop the creature from reaching the world above, KC must face the darkness and the cost of survival.
