DRUUNA is a sci-fi body horror thriller based on the internationally recognized cult graphic novel created by Harvey Award-winning artist Paolo Eleuteri Serpieri, whose work has been published globally across 12 languages and became iconic through Heavy Metal magazine.

 

Set inside a dystopian city ruled by an oppressive regime, the film follows Druuna, a resourceful young woman forced to hide infected rebels as a deadly sickness transforms humans into monstrous creatures. What begins as survival quickly spirals into paranoia, psychological tension, and brutal body horror as authorities close in and the infection spreads.

 

Tonally, the project blends the contained suspense of 10 Cloverfield Lane with the escalating creature horror and paranoia of The Thing, while also carrying the gritty dystopian atmosphere of classic sci-fi graphic novels.

 

Director Andy Chen brings strong genre credibility coming off viral horror work and Fangoria recognition, while the visual approach leans into practical horror, analog dystopian aesthetics, and grounded sci-fi realism.
